非谓语动词做定语，还是状语，从这2方面来看

一、位置：

作定语(名词/名词词组的两边)

名词/名词词组的前边：Developeingcountry.

名词/名词词组的后边：The waterto drink.

作状语(用逗号单独区分开的，从属连词，句子最后)

用逗号单独区分开的：To save money,he has tried every means.

从属连词：people are poor at considering background informationwhen make individual decisions.（从属连词when）

二、代入法

因为作定语可以放在名词/名词词组的后边，做状语也可以放在句子的最后，可能出现一种情况，句子最后有一个非谓语动词或者非谓语动词词组，不好区分是作定语还是作状语。

Archaeologists commonly use computersto map sites and the landscape around sites.

将to map sites and the landscape around sites代入 computers，很显然computers不可能主动去to map，不能修饰限定名词computers，不能做定语

将to map sites and the landscape around sites代入Archaeologists，Archaeologists就可以to map了，可以修饰限定句子的逻辑主语Archaeologists，做状语。
